I purchased these as companion rulers for patterns in the book Jelly Roll Quilt Magic. Although I have not used them yet, they look as though they will work beautifully with pre-cuts and not be wasteful of fabric.

I ordered the Wrights 1-Inch to 6-Inch Tri Recs Tools which are a set of two rulers for quilting projects through Amazon.com. These 2 rules are AWESOME! It made quick work of cutting proportional rectangles and triangles within squares. It is saves time and fabric - important to most quilters. The directions that came with the ruler set are easy to understand and use illustrations for added effectiveness. This is a perfect addition to my other quilting rulers.
